The Great Migration

The great Wildebeest Migration – Annual migration of a big herds of grazers take place, at the boarder between Tanzania and Kenya. It is considered as one of “Ten Wonders of The Natural World”, and one of the best events to see in Tanzania.

Over two million wildebeest, zebras and gazelles move through the Serengeti and Masai Mara ecosystems following the rainfall in search of green pasture, in a regular pattern. You can see the Great Migration in Tanzania all year round – they migrate in a circular motion around the Serengeti National Park as such it is an ongoing event. But the spectacular show of the Mara river crossing occur between end of July and beginning of October in the north part of the park.
